Preconception Package Information

3 Month Program
Preconception care aims to optimize health and promote favourable outcomes for both mother and baby. The period prior to becoming pregnant is critically important for the health and development of a child. Preconception Package FAQ
1. What is the DUTCH test and how would it benefit me?
The DUTCH test is a hormone test that uses dried urine samples to evaluate hormones and their metabolism within your unique body. This is a test I would 100% recommend if we suspect there may be hormonal imbalances at play. Hormonal imbalances can contribute to infertility and the DUTCH test is a fantastic way to assess your hormone levels with a much clearer picture than can be provided with a serum (blood) or salivary test. If you choose to do the DUTCH test, I am happy to recommend which test is right for you and go over your results in depth. This option requires an added 2 sessions together for a total of 6 sessions (including the initial consult). This option would benefit anyone coming off of hormonal birth control, experiencing infertility, lives a high stress lifestyle, suspects hormonal imbalances but nothing is showing up on blood tests, has hormonal imbalance symptoms (weight gain, acne, hair loss/thinning, sweating, heart palpitations, etc), + more.

2. What do you mean by “ovulation support”?
Ovulation is the period of time in a woman’s cycle (usually 2-4 days) when she is capable of becoming pregnant. This is the time when a mature egg is released from the ovary and moves into the Fallopian tube where it can be fertilized by a sperm. When ovulation does not occur this can lead to fertility issues. Ovulation support within my preconception package means that we will track your cycle together, utilize ovulation strips, incorporate nutrients specifically to increase the chances of ovulation occurring, and work towards uncovering the root cause of why ovulation is not happening. In short, ovulation support is as simple as it sounds, to simply support the process of ovulation and ensure that it is happening each month so that there is a chance for pregnancy.
3. Why is the initial consult so long?
The initial consult for any of my program options is always 60-90 minutes. This may seem like a long time because we are so used to being rushed in and out of medical doctor’s offices but I believe in getting to know my clients and this requires more time. We will use that time to discuss you, your goals, go over the intake forms, discuss current health (diet, lifestyle, supplements) practices, medical history, + more. I will also take some time (not a lot) to tell you more about myself and what my plan of action is for each of the subsequent sessions. There is always time allotted to answering any questions you may have.
4. What is included in the personalized nutrition plan?
This will differ based on your personal preferences and potential nutrient gaps however, for the most part this will involve either a meal plan, a list of ingredients, or recommended recipes that I will provide to you based on your intake forms and information provided in the initial consult. These suggestions will be tailored to you and your specific likes and dislikes and can of course incorporate foods you are hoping to try. Within this plan I will also ensure that any gaps in nutrition that may exist are filled by offering food suggestions that contain those specific nutrients. I will go over why these nutrients are important and how they will benefit you moving forward. Lastly, I will include a list of nutrients that should be prioritized based on your health goals with information as to why each nutrient is critical to the preconception phase.
5. Is this program suitable for women with specific dietary preferences or restrictions?
Yes, absolutely. All of my program options are tailored to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. We will work closely to develop a nutrition plan that aligns with your individual needs and preferences.
